Ok, nothing is "type r" about a d series to begin with
Yes, various builds (using dynos) have shown the Y8 manifold to be better flowing, plus its a little bigger. Yes it will bolt right up, but since its an OBD2 manifold, it has extra vaccum nipples for the Evap system that obd2 EX's read for, which you can simply be just plugged up or T'd off to another vaccum hose.
You also need the Y8 throttlebody as well, the IACv path's are differnt than that of the z6
