No just get that alignment done asap, and make sure they bring TOE as close to zero at all 4 corners as possible. That will save your tires.

yep just do an alignment and do what pic said to get your toe zeroed out as much as possible. for me my integra the rear factory spec was something like .06 degrees toe out for the rear, presumably for high speed stability. front toe should be exactly zero.

then just rotate your tires at recommended intervals.

Any reason on why one would advise against using a camber kit(front and rear)?

Toe is the main cause of tire death.

never said you "shouldn't" get one. Its just not absolutely necessary. I just have the ingalls washer kit in the rear.

running -1.4 deg camber up front, 0 front toe, -1 camber rear .07 toe. NO wear problems. been driving over 800 miles in 3 weeks with brand new ziex tires mounted right after the alignment i can still see the stubs for the mold in the rear.

I'll volunteer myself as the extreme example.

00 GSR
-4.0* front camber, -1.4* rear camber
0* front toe, factory rear toe in (forget exact number)
No, thats not a typo. -4.0* of camber. Its for autocross (heavy car + soft suspension + high ride height = lots of dynamic camber lost = lots of static camber needed to compensate), and its more than I really need (asked for -3.2*, haven't bothered to fix).

Had this alignment for 1 year now, and my tires are about 1/4 worn, measured with a tread depth gauge, and I have nearly even wear across the entire tread surface.

In fact, I'm wearing the outside shoulders slightly faster than the center and inside sections (1/32" difference), which is the opposite of what "camber wear" is supposed to produce. This is measuring the street tires, I run different ones to tear up during autocross.

Only point is, if I don't see "camber wear", or unusually fast tire wear, with my excessive alignment, you should be fine if you get the toe set correctly with what little camber that mild lowering will provide.

Yeah get the alignment first. I have the Firestone unlimited alignment plan and get the Toe set to near-zero about once every 6K. They and other shops offer $119.00 specials for unlimited alignment packages... good for as long as you own the car. I also suggest rotating your tires every 4-6K.

I am in the minority to recommend a camber kit ONLY if the following have been addressed first:
1. Alignment
2. Replacement of worn or underperforming suspension parts (e.g. cracked bushings, worn shocks, bent trailing arms, little to no suspension travel).

but then you need another alignment if you install your camber kit post initial alignment.

get unlimited alignments then. Some shops check for worn parts before doing an alignment.
