4g h22a swap downpipe problem
i had my h23 swapped for a jdm h22a and its running and everything is good except for one thing. the jdm header does not reach the downpipe. i went to a muffler shop and they couldnt help me. i went to a performance exhaust shop, and they couldnt help me either. i cant find jdm h22a downpipe anywhere online. what should i do? where can i find the downpipe?! help plz
Chances are if you find a JDM down-pipe, it probably wouldn't fit to your existing cat and exhaust. The cheapest way is to buy a cheap header for the H22.
A friend of mine ran into the same things, I sold him my jdm downpipe and everything fit. You can see if anyone will sell you theirs or like the other guy said, get an aftermarket header. No length difference between jdm and usdm headers.Whether it needs any modifications or not would apply whether its jdm or usdm, get a known brand at least.
Get a USDM h22 down pipe...Or just do what i did for the time being and buy a cheap header off ebay.
Here is the one i got.

You can use your existing cat.

ya i jus did my headers today. the downpipe was too short and wasnt reaching the cat. so what i did was bolt the downpipe to the cat very loose to keep about an inch gap between the two and hooked the downpipe to the headers and then tightened the cat and downpipe part and the steel mesh jus stretched a little bit and it worked fine. ya so if it was short, the little mesh part should make up for it
i have stock exhaust but on preludepower they told me i would need an entirely new h22 exhaust because my h23 exuast would not match with the h22 header that i plan on buying.... and so do you guys no for sure that a usdm header will fit on my jdm h22a?

Just buy a header w/ downpipe combo for the H22. You can get some pretty cheap on eBay, or if you want performance you can go Greddy.

yes but to go somewhere else i would need to have my car towed and im broke right now. i ordered the jdm downpipe and cat but will that fit in my usdm si car? and what other parts will i need to complete the exhaust system? just a catback exhaust right?
yes the downpipe and cat will fit onto the jdm top exhaust manifold. If you have an exhaust on the car it will be fine, if you want to change it you can do that as well, but the h23 and h22 exhausts fit the same, i have had both on my car since my h22 swap.
