97 Accord tranny(F22B2)_sohc on a 00 Accord F23A
I was wondering will a 97 accord auto tranny swap to a 2000 accord F23 and run and drive fine. I searched, but found nothing, they all seem to stop being compatible from 90-97. All info is greatly appreciated.
i know the engine changed....i think its the same size physically but i dunno about the shift linkage, my f22b2 tranny uses 2 cables for linkage and a hydralic clutch. i can take pics if needed
both cars are auto. I wanna take the 97 tranny and put it in the 2000, will it swap. Do i need another TCU let me know.
i'm 90 percent certain it won't work....just had a tranny problem with my 98 accord, and a used tranny was over $800, so I was looking for the previous years tranny, but many honda techs assured me it won't work, and if they did the 97 tranny's would cost more since they are better then the 98-02 auto's
I asked this question a while ago and what it comes down to is that all of the f and h series trannys are interchangable mechanically, but the autos aren't electronically compatible between the generations. Your best bet is to swap to stick eventually, and in the mean time make sure you have ONLY honda atf in your trans. P.S. Im on my third auto (all done under warranty) and Im only at 75k. So now I have a H22 5 speed in my back yard waiting to go in

so im trying to sell my AT trans off my f23 ... the guy has a 5th gen AT ... obviously it can be physically swapped no problem ... my question is what has to be done as far as sensors and such to make it work
while it will bolt up mechanically, it will not work electically due to changes in the electronics inside the transmission
