Default stiff shifting

i have a short shifter on my 99 civic si coupe. it is a really short shift, but i hate having to go into 2nd before i go into first or 5th before i go into reverse. i have to do that or push hard as hell to get it into the gears. i was told by a couple of people it might be hitting the transmission. should i just switch it out with a B&M dual bend short shift, or have it looked at? i still want to keep the really short shifts though

Ive had a friend with a b and m and its very stiff also for some reason , i would recommend the skunk 2 short shifter , that shifter is smooth through out all the gears

don't listen to the "people" that told you it's hitting the tranny. that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard, and quite impossible. the reason you have to do all that unnecessary shifting is because your shifter is too short.

i recommend a B&M shifter (straight-no bends) f you want it to be stiff, along with some es bushings.

it is shorter than a oem one, but not as stiff as yours. even if you add the bushings, it'll be not so much stiff but firm. i still recommend you swapping out your current one.

i had the same stiff problem, but it was due to the trans being off angle a bit.

I just recently put a pace setter short throw in my car with an energy suspention bushing kit. It was stiff at first. but it losened up. you could have tightened the connecting rod too much so it's squeezing the shirter. just a guess.
