I have a B16A2 on a 97 hatch. It was running OK and took it for a valve adjustment. After driving for a while got a CEL going on VTEC deacelerating around 7k rpm. So I pull over and turn it off to check if some thing was wrong, no luck. when I turn it back on the CEL was gone and VTEC was working fine. Drove some more and same thing happened. When I turn the car off the CEL turns off too.
I also notice that the idle is a little bit high, around 950rpm. the running temp. when down enough to be noticable. When VTEC engages my "butt dyno" feel it shocking like if it does not let the exaust out. Could the reason be that got valve adjustment for a SOHC intead of a DOHC? Help me please.
The mods it has are:
sk2 pro mi, t/b,cai,310cc rc injectors,aem fuel rail & fuel pressure regulator,p28 chip & dyno tune, h & 2.5" exhaust.
I had the valves adjusted in the first place because a leak down check was performe and the resolts were that cylinder 3 was 25% leaking to the exhaust. The others cylinders were 10%, 15%, 13%.
Thanks in advance for your help. All opinions welcome.

even though the cel does not appear when you start the car doesn't mean it's still not there. the ecu saves all codes, so what ever you do, do not disconnect the battery, it will erase.
now, with that being said follow these directions on pulling codes:

when you do this, post back. there is no way we can tell the problem until you post. i highly doubt the valave adjustment started a cel.

I checked it. Its good and works if the cel is not on. Could it be that the valves got adjusted for a SOHC instead of a DOHC?
