Honda Civic Mugen RR sold 300 cars in 10mins
The Honda Civic Mugen RR (based on the new JDM Honda Civic Type R) is limited to a total production run of 300 cars. Japanese track fiends with ¥4.7million to spend on a spiffy, street-legal time attack weapon are its target audience -- and a receptive one at that. On September 14th at 9:00 AM local time in Japan, reservations for Mugen's ultimate Type R officially began being taken. By 9:10 AM, according to the Japanese enthusiast site, Carview, the 300th reservation was placed. However you want to parse the numbers (we're sure additional reservations were taken, in case some prospective buyers bail out), one thing's certain: all 300 cars are spoken for well in advance of the expected January delivery date.
Those lucky enough to secure the Mugen RR receive a lighter, more powerful and track-tuned Civic Type R that in the right hands is capable of lapping Japan's Tsukuba circuit in 1:06:38. At least that's what the folks at Mugen were able to wring out of it. We're sure some of the car's buyers will be looking to top that number as soon as they have a chance. With this thing, life is a driving game, and Time Attack mode is always on.

Depends. If you are a Honda collector, this car for sure falls under a collectible car being that only 300 are being made.
Damn that is fast as hell.
Mugen puts out some nice stuff. Car looks good.

After watching the video of the civic type R sedan, NSX, S2K, Teg, and 350z with the Civic holding the lead for most of the race I would definitely run that as a track car.

I believe it isnt much heavier then coupe. Very little difference in weight. That and the fact it already has the R motor. IIRC the CTR just from Honda was setting faster lap times then the S2000, that has to say something there, and no not that the S2K is slow, haha.

Coupes are getting quite heavy because of the amount of crash bracing the have to do in the doors and other areas because of the placement of the b-pillar in relation to driver position in a coupe vs sedan.
Watch this video then tell me that car, which is an upgraded version of the car in the video, would not be a very fun track car and driver.

I dont think that video comment was directed towards me since i was sticking up for the four door, haha.
I actually think the four door looks better. I like the USDM tails though over the Civic/CSX tails, but the front end is so much better then the USDM. Some guy has posted that has one. Said the ride is so rough in the new CTR. Wow stiffer then the DC5R.
So yes i think the Mugen RR will be a fast nice car, but not something i would want to be tracking. That is something that would only come out for special days, if not. Stays in the garage.

It's the same way with Canada. So many Canuckistani's have been going to the US to buy new cars, that they had to outlaw it.
I mean seriously, they want a hair over $60,000 for an STI here. I mean COME ON. And even with the exhange rate? No wonder Subby dealerships are starting to drop like flies around my neck of the woods
... Holy off topic, Batman!

How have you been?
At any rate, i just think its amusing to hear people bitching about the price. Its not like they're spending the money on houses over there.

Amazing. An econobox sedan falling in second place from Acura's flagship.
