Default CLIFFORD RSX Matrix

Stolen ej2 during broad daylight. Car was parked less than 100 yards away while I was having lunch.

WTF happened? Were these thieves pros or what? My pager never went off, and it still indicates that my car is armed and locked!

my alarm system failed me.

why are you in shock when you never knew the alarm was even hooked up properly?...

sorry but i know how it feels i had my hatchback stolen and recovered about 20 days later, i wasnt shocked at all when i walked outside to see it missing and i had no alarm... even if i did when they arent installed stealthly a thief can disarm the alarm in a matter of seconds.... its all about the install im telling you.

The reason is that the hood can be popped without setting off the alarm. And the battery unplugged. So the alarm never went off. That's why it still shows the car being locked. With the back up battery it would of kept the alarm powered and sending the page. When the alarm goes off its not one page sent to the remote. It keeps sending and sending. And even thou a Clifford dealer hooked it up does not mean it was a perfect install. It was probably a basic install. This is one of the reason that I don't do basic installs anymore. Its a waste of time, It does not prevent your car from being stolen, It just a keyless entry that makes noice, And it a waste of money and you and my time. And the biggest thing is that I don't ever want any of my installs stolen.

So now you need to read up on how to keep your car safe. Its not cheap. So lets get this out the way. Hopefully the car will come back in one piece and you can start over. Its not your fault, the alarm fault. You just did not know what is out there to protect your car. You have to remember. Its us against them. There not going to stop and its not going to stop. Period! And they don't care about you. Its free shyt to them. Why not chance it? Its funny that people do so much research on how to build there cars up. Turbos, k20's, suspension, and yada yada, Not one ever looked up on how to secure it. Please don't let this misfortune discourage you from using a alarm. Read up and learn how to do it right. Really, if all the members on here would take our advice. I guarantee there would not be one stolen car on here. But there are to many hardheads on here. 75% won't listen till they become a victim. The other 25 don't want to be the victim.

You guys are being way too hard on this guy. He made a good effort at security and never came across any info to tell him otherwise. It's the people that make NO effort at security at all that don't deserve any sympathy.

Whether you get your car back or you get another car, stick around and we'll give you everything you need to know to make sure it never gets stolen again. Looks like you're in SD so let me know and I will hook you up.

I'd send you a pm, however still a trial user. How can you hook me up? I have a new car that needs a better alarm install.

Yes, I can hook you up on the alarm. Suspended hatch is closer and can do the install.

Sorry about your loss. Back up battery would have certainly helped. Considering is only about $30 its cheap insurance.

A good installation is critical. A good installation takes time. Time = $$
An alarm is only as good as its installer. Yeah you get what I'm saying..

You might also want to consider a hood lock on your next car. I think these aren't too popular anymore but it still slows thieves down.

And no alarm is going to stop a thief from trying.. and in the process messing up your car.. so insurance.. sounds stupid for an old civic but its the times we live in..

I see that he's local. Maybe he'll chime in so I can get in touch and discuss some options.
