Default replaced axles.... now car doesn't want to move

I just replaced my friend's axles on his 94 integra and now his car doesn't want to move. the strange thing is when the clutch is out the speedometer rises to 20 km/h but the wheels don't spin. The wheels spin freely by hand. Does anybody have any suggestions?

It sounds a lot like the axles arn't in all the way. the speedo is driven by a gear in the trans so it reads what the tranmission speed is not the speed of the car. does the other wheel spin if u spin one wheel?

hmm it doesnt necessarily mean anything if if both wheels dont spin that depends on lsd/ non lsd, or whether its in gear or not

x2... u gotta make sure they go in, theres a snap ring on the end of it that goes into the tranny, u gotta get a hammer and tap the axle fully into the tranny, u should notice a difference and should be very firm and shouldn't have any slack to pull in out.

i swapped a 96 spec. b18c5 into a friends 91 hatch and had a similar problem. we had to swap out the drivers side steering knuckle because of a bad ball joint,( it was just cheeper and easier that way) you could spin it by hand but when you tried to drive it, it would lock up and not move. i found that on the inside of the knuckle at the hub/bearing ***. there was a little metal ring there that was causing the problem. i got a screwdriver and poped it out now it is fine.
