Default help me figure out what the hell is going on with my motor

well.. in my other thread i was asking about the burning oil issue with my 97 r motor... now i wanna ask why would it stop burning oil out of the blue.... heres my story

well about 2 weeks ago i changed the oil i was using mobil 1 clean 5000 10-30 now im using castrol non syn 10-30... 1 1/2 weeks go buy and i have to add 1 1/2 quarts.. another 1/2 week goes buy and i notice the motor is running alot stronger..

driving around last night and felt like it had alot more power.. like when you get low on gas compared to a full tank, but i had a full tank and ive noticed for the last 4 days it wasnt burning any oil..

so today i was thinking well maybe i should get my compression test again... and the f'n numbers are up.. way up....

last test i got was 1-4 235 239 208 233
this test i got 1-4 249 247 242 248

i dont understand how 2 weeks go by and it gets better like that.. the only thing i have done to it was change from mobil 1 clean 5k to castrol... still cylinder 3 is down from the rest.. but **** its alot better then what it was..

anyone know wtf is happening? cuz im stumped.. im still planning on building it in a few months but if it stops burning oil i can put it off longer

Did you use the same compression tester? Did you do it the exact same way? Engine temps the same?

I have a feeling that after the oil has more fews on it that it'll start burning it again.

engine was the same temp.. same autozone compression tester.. the oil already has 1900 miles on it.. i drive 100 miles a day for work plus 200 miles a week going to school.. im putting a shitload of miles on it..

but ive still noticed the last 4 days, it wasnt burning oil...

i also have been driving it nicer not revving it up between shifts as much.. basically keeping it below 4k.. even tho its at 4300 at 75 on the freeway i stay around 80..

i was thinking of seafoaming it but idk if i wanna mess with it if its deciding it wants to run good

your motor likes you! dont do anyting till it hates you again... i noticed that my motor sips coolant so i have to add some every couple days but if i keep it below 5k i dont have to hardly at all... i dont know if that means anything to you but yeah.\
do you have single ply?

When you did the first compression test was it after a good serious drive in the car? What about when you did it the second time?

DOHC VTEC engines are known to burn oil in the WOT high RPM range. It is something that they do.

i drive the car teh same... from my house to autozone and compression test...

i know alot of people that have dohc vtec's that dont burn oil at all... like my friend with his obd1 b16... it doesnt burn a single drop of oil between oil changes, and he got it from nagasaki jdm thats a good motor...

**** mine burns 3 quarts atleast every 3k
