Default fuel pump relay

im now convinced that my fuel pump relay is going out, every once in a while on my 91 crx si it just wont start, then after sitting and trying for a few minutes it will fire right up. i was told that i can run a power wire from the pump to the relay and splice in a toggle sitch. does anyone know if this is true? any one tried it

?? wrong forum, but yes you can.. on the flip side you have to turn the switch off so the fuel pump doesn't keep running..

In general these relays fail because of "dry solder" or a crack in the solder. You can have fix it yourself with a solder iron, bulb and some new solder.

If it is the PGM-FI Main Relay, [fuel pump relay] you can be sure if when you turn on the ign. to run, [not start] and you do not hear the fuel pump prime, [run for a few sec.] then give the relay a tap, if fuel pump primes, the problem is the relay.

This should help... http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/mainrelay.html 94
