Corner weight a crx for Drag racing??
I am going to corner weight the car but I have not heard anywhere what the weight distribution should be. I asked the owner of a well run shop here what it should be and he treated it like a state secret. Maybe because they do corner weighting and want me to take it to them to do it. Anyway I was thinking 50/50 right to left weight and as much weight as I can get out front. Maybe 60/40 front-rear weight distribution.
Nobody discusses this but I know all of the well set-up cars would not go without it. I want this for drag use only so keep that in mind. Please only those that have tested some different settings. I need a good starting point at least. I can test from there. Thanks

From my understanding when you corner weight a car, it is kitty corner across the car like an X. For example front left (driver ) with rear right (passenger),and front right (passenger) with left rear (driver) . You want to set the ride height and then get the weights close to matching each other on each side, usually with the majority of the weight in the front. So say the front left is 900 and rear right is 400 equaling 1300. Then you want the other side to be equal to that. It doesnt have to be exact and it is really confuseing. So if i didnt confuse you right out of wanting to do it. Check with a local alignment shop (this does not include pep boys or just tires) they might be able to clarify it better for you.If not there are a few books on suspension you might be able to find on amazon...

I know how to do it and understand the concept. When I raced go karts I would setup everything on my kart. I just don't know what the percentages to use. I guess there is only a certain amount of weight I could get up front but what is a good starting point for front to rear weights. At some point I would assume you would sacrifice top end for a better launch if you put to much weight up front. I wonder what Skunk2 or the other fast FF all motor teams set their weights at.
ITs real simple , you want as much weight on the front tires as possible , equal on both sides.

Would weight reduction be more/less effective depending on what part of the car the weight came from
