Hey i have a 96 ex with 98 h22a. I just bought the MSD digital 6 plus with the wires and ss coil. But on the coil, there is a (+) and a (-) terminal that i connect to the ignition box. There is also this other terminal that I dont know if I have to connect it to anything. If I do, what do I connect it to? Also, Should I remove my old coil, or just leave it there? Disconnect it?

where on the distributor might I ask? It doesnt say in the instructions.

 

its the 5th port on the distributor, you know the one that isnt being used by the 4 ignition wires that go to each respective spark plug

 

I cant seem to find the 5th port. Is it on the cap or inside? Same terminal plugs like the spark plugs? Thanks for being patient with me

 

well the h22 has the external coil and the f internal, the port on the h22 distributor cap is on the outside, i hope you are not attempting to use the f22 cap....

 

no i am using the h22a cap. But on the outside of the cap, there are just two black pieces of plastic that stick out. There is nothing that i can plug the terminal into, unless i have to cut the outside of one of those.

 

interesting, all h's i know use external coil, maybe its the wrong cap?

 

hehe...how can it be the wrong cap? I actually heard that 98 jdm h22a's are internal. But either way, what am I supposed to do with that terminal?

 

i am not sure how it is broken up but some are internal some are external. Mine came with an internal coil. The cap is exactly the same as one from a 90 accord but the rotor is one from a 94 lx with the screw through it. I wish it was external so i wouldn't have to buy parts to switch it.

 

check to see if indeed the coil is internal, and see if the f dist cap would work if it does just get an msd cap with external coil..

 

hey i was at summitracing to look for the distributor cap, and the only one i saw was for the civics, integras, and for the 5th gen accord. There is no application for the prelude, but will it work with the accord one? Which part numbers do you guys have?

 

hell the accord one doesnt look like it would fit either. It says the 5th gen accord witha hitachi distributor. What am I supposed to do?

why can't he just switch it to an external coil and use a prelude cap?

 

i probably could but i dont know how to do it....hehe....how do i get the coil terminal from the blaster ss to connect to the cap?

 

The JDM H22's are internal coils. My friend had one in his Accord, and that was one of the things we noticed was different.

 

i went to honda and got the cap from the usdm h22a, which is external. Thanks for the help guys
