what year are talking about?

92-95 civic si only came in a hatchback.
92-95 civic ex can be found in a coupe and sedan.

99-00 civic si was in a coupe, but came with a B16A2.
99-00 civi ex also was a coupe, but came with a SOHC D16.

it's real easy to identify.

The D16y8 was in the 97-00Civic EX

D16z6 was 92-95 EX coupe/sedan & Hatchback

The Si was the hatch and the EX coupe/sedan for 92-95

Si was coupe only for 97-00

Canada uses VIN's too, the canadian civic will read em1. I know my cousin in al berta's civic reads em1.

Though she could have bought it in the states, I doubt it.
