A/C "Clunk" Noise When I Turn It On first time each day?

My A/C makes a horrible clunking noise when i turn it on for the first time each day. Any ideas?

check your belt, and your a/c compressor when it engage and disengage

If it is a rattling sound when you turn the a/c on then it is probably the clutch on the a/c compressor. Mine is doing the same thing. Then the other day i turned the a/c on and sprayed it with degreaser since my engine is fairly dirty and it runs much better now. Still a very faint noise but it is MUCH better!
