question on alternator, battery, and battery cables
i have a problem with my 91 integra ls. the car didnt start so i jumped it and after letting it run for 20 min i shut it off. then when i tried to restart it 10 min later it was dead. the battery is new, so now i just replaced the alternator and i have the same problem. so my question is:
what else can i check for besides the battery and alternator that could be draining the power from the battery, and how do i check the battery cables and check for shorts in the circuit? thanks

You need a multimeeter to test the draw from the battery when the key is off and to test the grounds at multiple points to make sure everything is grounding good. Will the car stay running with the battery cable pulled off (after its started)? If the car dies when you pull the cable off then your alternator is bad still. Thats my guess.
so how exactly do i test the the draw from the battery and what do i do to test the grounds. and anybody have any other suggestions, thanks
im still having problems. the car will start and run fine when its jumped but once i turn off the car and check the battery, the voltage steadily decreases. the alternator is fine, so what else can it be? what wires can i test for draw and could it be the main relay? thanks for the help
