is it a good idea to connect the airbag on my jdm wheel
i have a jdm srs steering wheel, and i was wondering if its a good idea to connect the srs. is it compatable with the srs unit in the usdm cars, and will i have any problems.
I would say that Yes its a good idea to connect it. I dont know if its compatable. I think it is, but I could be wrong.
The main reason I would connect it is because of insurance purposes. If you are in an accident and are claiming an SRS credit, the insurance comapny doesnt have to cover you. They probably will... But be prepared for a non-renewal... Id either call them and say I dont have an SRS and remove the credit or hook up the air bag.

Since 94-97 cars have a different SRS plug off the cable reel, is it possible to hook up the airbag from the JDM wheel?
It should be. I don't know if there really is a difference in the plugs from 94-97 to 98-01 but I'm sure both are 2 pin connectors, just make sure if you need to splice to get the correct wire. Usually all SRS wiring is grey so you will have to determine which is ground.
