in this diagram you see number 18, the half shaft support?

theres nothing wrong with mine...just that all the bolts stripped out of the block. and the support is hangin bouncin off my exhaust. i took it somewhere for hopefully a quick fix here at school, but the guy said they are too far stripped. he got the bolts to catch by hand but if you crank on them with a wrench he said they just keep spinning. he said they block will have to be pulled and tapped becuase there is no room between the block and the car to do the work with the engine in the car. i just simply cant afford this right now. anyone have this happen before? i need a way i can fix this with the engine in the car.

if they say they can't tap it in the car then it will most likely need to be pulled out...
you could try a ghetto way such as jb weld or something to hold it in but eventually it will need to get fixed the correct way
they said there isnt a way they could do a threadsert?? or heli-coil it? i would think they were be enough room, try another shop and see what they say

they did say a heli-coil would be the best bet, but they also said there wasnt enough room to run the drill to get the hole large enough for the heli-coil
Got Air? A small angled drill with work just fine. There isn't enough room for a full size drill..but logic would say..don't use a full size drill.
I'd call around and see if anyone can do it...possibly if you supply the drill and parts!

Drill it..heli-coil it and drive away!

that would be ideal. i'm also gonna see if i cant re tap it to a coarser thread first(from 1.25 to 1.5) and if that doesnt work, then i'll give that a try
even with angle drill there's just not enough room, or for the heli-coil installation tool to properly install the coil. that mount needs to be strong! so don't try to getto rig please! you'll end up costing yourself more money in the end.
