Default Best\Cheapest Place to Buy Filler?

What is the best\cheapest place to buy filler? I get bent over at the local airgas supplier on filler. I was hoping someone would know a good online source for filler.

Best Regards,
Justin Olson

Another local welding supply shop? My place is pretty reasonable, and its good to support a local company. Call around, and find out pricing.

United Welding off of MLK in Portland has decent filler prices for small quantities.

I beat up my local shop and tell them what I find it for on the web. They hook me up. I bought my TIG, and all my supplies and have all my tanks filled there so they know me now and take good care of me.

tig-depot.com
check out consumable retailers on the internet. I buy in bulk so I get a discount.

I pay 9.xx per lb of 316 filler from a local shop. I can get it slightly cheaper from another place in big bulk but ive found certain brands weld better than others. I also pay less than $40 for refills (337 cubic feet tank) from the same shop. Its better to develope a good relationship with one place IMO

Like everybody said above, find another local place. If you live somewhere large enogh where there is an airgas there is bound to be another shop. EVery once and a while when I have to have something on a Saturday and I know they are the only place open I go to airgas. It's always a painful ride home after that reaming.

Quimby Welding supply here in portland seems to have pretty good prices. I was checking out their prices on aluminum:

Not necessarily. There are regional differences in Ar prices, due to distances from the gas-manufacturing plants... just like everything else. Oranges in Florida are cheap, Oranges in Alaska are expensive. Everything is expensive on an island like Nantucket, other than fish!

For Oregon those rates are high. We pay $24.50 / 250 cu Argon from Quimby. They also deliver if you open an account.
