catalytic converter please give advice
Sorry still a noob on some subjects, but my catalytic converter on my 1997 hx is shot so i need to get a new one the car is almost stock with some adjustments, should i just replace it with another oem one or should i go with a aftermarket one, i tried to look this up on the search, but could't find anyhing any help would be great thanks.
i would get an aftermarket one just for the cheaper price... and if your lucky.. find a friend that has a cat you can borrow when its smog time
Whatever is cheaper. The difference in power is negligible, but the sound sucks with aftermarket cats unless you install a big resonator.

X2, stock cat is your best bet.

i am using an aftermarket CAT and still managed to pass emissions, i had to get it welded on because it wasnt a bolt on affair... but if you want to spend more money get the OEM one, aftermarket is just cheaper.

It's like an EX. Underneath the car.

yeah. basically. You'll be better off with a stock cat. They're expensive, though. See if you can find a used one or something. Go to a junkyard and take the whole exhaust off an 96+EX or HX or Si. lol if they say something about you taking the cat, just be like "uhh...well....i couldnt get the bolts off...." That usually works. They just wave you on at that point around here. If they even notice that the cat is on there.

i checked out my Hx yesterday and i have no CAT stock??? wtf? the guy i bought it frum has after market headers on it too... but only one bung on top where the headers come out one sensor is missing wat do i do about that??
i dident go for inspection.... so the cat is on the manifold..??? ****.. ok i guess the guy put ex headers on it then.... going down to stock pipeing.. i was thinkin about gettin a after market exhaust so ill just put ex piping for the rest... my question is.. the sensor that woulda been up by the manifold is there any way to re wire it n bring it down under to where my cat will now be?

The HX cat should be underneath the car, not on the manifold. I'm almost positive.
If not, then you just have to lenghthen the wires. It's hard to solder then since they are stainless. So take your time to do it right. make sure it sticks.
