If your car is obd1 I'd say get an aftermarket one.

If your car is obd2, get an oem replacement.

Whatever is cheaper. The difference in power is negligible, but the sound sucks with aftermarket cats unless you install a big resonator.

i am using an aftermarket CAT and still managed to pass emissions, i had to get it welded on because it wasnt a bolt on affair... but if you want to spend more money get the OEM one, aftermarket is just cheaper.

Where is the cat on an HX? If it's on the exhaust mani like the DX and CX then there is nothing available but OEM or an OEM copy.

It's like an EX. Underneath the car.

yeah. basically. You'll be better off with a stock cat. They're expensive, though. See if you can find a used one or something. Go to a junkyard and take the whole exhaust off an 96+EX or HX or Si. lol if they say something about you taking the cat, just be like "uhh...well....i couldnt get the bolts off...." That usually works. They just wave you on at that point around here. If they even notice that the cat is on there.

I bought a 97 hx for parts and the cat was actually on the exhaust manifold.

The HX cat should be underneath the car, not on the manifold. I'm almost positive.

If not, then you just have to lenghthen the wires. It's hard to solder then since they are stainless. So take your time to do it right. make sure it sticks.
