i replaced all the gaskets on my motor (exhaust, intake, head, throttle body) and when i put the motor back together and started it, the car accelerated to 5500 rpm and it stays up there... i unhooked the throttle cable and it still does it... any help would be appreciated

 

A large vacuum leak. Brake booster line on? look around for unconected hoses. its gonna be a big leak for the idle to go that high.
