My new ITR + track report (56k=nogo)
I just bought myself a new (litteraly speaking) ITR.
This is my third ITR, and she`s definatly a keeper.
The car is a `99 model and had only been driven 1700km (1050miles) when i picked it up.
It`s an ex rally-kaa wich has only been driven one winter rally, and have been put to storage at the Honda stealership afterwards.
I`ve been trying to get the car registered on regular licence plates since May, but due to very strict rules regarding the rollcage, I had to give up.
This left me with two options. Let the car stay at the dealership forever, (It had been there since 99/00) or rip the cage out and build a roadlegal car out of it.
I picked the second option.
Speclist on the car was really short - The only mods done to it was dampers and rollcage - so the conversion was easy.
On to the pics.
This is what she looked like when i picked her up.

First thing off was the vinyl.

I got the car registered just in time for the seasons last trackday
The track we drove is called Rudskogen, and is my favorite in southern Norway.
I got mixed feelings after driving here this weekend.
It was raining all day long, and i had some really crap tires mounted on the car.
However it was fabulous to drive an ITR again. To bad the season is over just when it started for my sake.
The car felt very good. Gear and pedalfeel was awesome. It really felt like a brand new car.
And on to the pics again.

I hope you don`t mind i posted the pics you shot of my car, espenoo.
Thanks for looking.
Eirik.

Wow you sure know how to make a "My new ITR" thread.
x 10.
Nice pick up, that's weird about that no Rollcage law or something you have down there, I don't think I've ever heard of such a thing here in the states, has anyone else??
Welcome BACK to the club.

also wondering?

I guess you could call them hoodpin protectors.
I believe they are used to ensure that the pins don't get caught in things like branches and fences when rallying
nice looking car....too bad about the cage though

The flaps covering the hoodpins are required on rally cars.
They are to prevent from unneccesary injury if you run down somebody.
I removed them from my car yesterday though.
Regarding the rollcage, yeah it sucks that I had to remove it.
The "registration office" are not approving any full rollcages on roadlegal cars anymore.
However, half-cages / rollbars are allowed. So my old rollcage is getting rebuildt into a legal version.

Gongrats on the new caR again - its a nice example, one-of-a-kind with that low milage! Cool
No problem with the pics, I don't mind
Nice to roll together with you on the track again
