CYP Sensor. NEED INFO>
MY car has been hesitating when i drive. I did a error code check and it came to be the cyp 1st cylinder sensor. Was hoping someone knows any information then i do about it and can help me fix the problem .
it usually means a new distributer is needed. do you have any aftermarket ignitions systems that could mess with the dist.? have you mess with wiring or timing at all?
yes actually i had tried timing the car with timing light and noticed my first cylinder kinda stopped at times. IT had its own pattern of flashing then stopping it was weird. IT was if the cylinder does not know when to fire .
cyp sensor is in your distributor cap. I have change it. It's very easy and you could change only this thing. Acord 90-93 have the same!

Make sure the pickup is near the spark plug, and not by the distributor side. It's either not getting a solid signal, or picking up interference with the other wires.
Re-time it and go from there. Also reset the ECU to see if it pops up again.

i reseted ecu and the check engine light went off . But it still drives bad and also when i run codes i get same cyp sensor code. So i think i should change the distributer. ( also i just put timing light on cylinder #1 and it jumps and stops it weird. So i think by changing distributer it will fix problem.
