I need a help with my DA9 Please!!!!!!!!!
alright i just got a problem that popped up recently, everytime i hit my brakes and i come to a stop and i hold them after like 2 seconds they go soft and the pedal goes straight down to the floor, i pump it like 5 times then hit the brakes and it does the same thing it goes soft, i checked my brake fluid and its full, i check both resivoirs the anti-lock and the regular brake and theyre full, and no leaks anywhere or around it, now someone of my friends told me it might be leaking from the calipers on the front tires, could that be true, and if it is then i need to replace them right, so heres the question, what parts off a honda is interchangable with a 1991 acura integra, because the junkyards up here dont have any integras but the 87 and lower, if anyone can help me that would be great , and another thing why does my anti-lock light come on in the dash after i hit like 40 mpg and stays on, thanks everyone
i had the same master cylnder problem...i guess it could be air in the lines because they were bled when i changed them...
idk its all over with now lol
....when you slam on your brakes dose it make the brake pedal "padder" ...any vibration come from it?
your abs modulator might be out or going, its a common problem in da's or any 14 year old car that had the first versions of abs
most people take out the abs bulb in the dash and the abs fuse, because the modulator cost upwards of 600 bucks.
after a while alot of people take out the whole thing together to clean up the engine bay and make room for strut tower bars and such...
my two cents

theres no vibration at all it just goes very soft and hits the floor, and i can t stop ill try bleeding the breaks and if that solves it ill let ya know but if not my cuzin tells me that the booster might be out and i have to replace it but, the big problem here is theres no DA integras in the junk yard by my house so what cars are interchangable with the 1991 integra, as far as breaks and such...

i assume it has air in the lines also, only thing that would point to that other then the master cylinder. Just be sure to check if the calipers are leaking too. Any liquid near or in the wheel/wheel well?
My cousin's DA had the same problem. I checked the fluid, checked for leaks everywhere, and then bled the entire system. No luck, so I told him to go buy a master cylinder, I put it on for him in about 20 minutes, and what do you know, they work flawlessly now. Not to mention he got a lifetime warranty on his new brake master cylinder. Also for an FYI, when I pulled the old one off, we compard pressure with the old and new, and they had the same amount of pressure. I guess under load, the older one couldn't create enough pressure in the lines to brake the car.

fixed....anyway, as others have said, start with flushing and filling your system then bleed itand if that doesn't do it try replacing the master cylinder

If its not leaking anywhere and your res is full then its your brake master cylinder. When you brake do you pump to keep pressure and if you hold the brakes you loose pressure its Master cylinder as fluid is getting in the cylinder where it shouldnt .. Easy to replace
94+ integra calipers are the same as 91. and i think 96+ four door civics are the same. my 88 integra had the same problem, found out that it was a crack in the rear caliper replaced it and everything worked fine.
