What is Your Maintenance Schedule?
I think it would be interesting to hear everybody's complete maintenace schedule on your R. List everythin you do to your R to keep her running smooth and happy. Include time intervals, what parts or fluids you are using and what type of driving you do.
I'm not organized, I don't really keep track of it. I'll just be like, "Oh, I haven't flushed my cooling system lately", or, "bout time to replace spark plugs." The only exception being I write the mileage on my oil filter to get an idea of where I'm at there. In fact I'm going to change my oil filter tonight. Just the filter mind you, because I burn too much oil to ever have to change any
change the oil/oil filter every 1.5-2 K
manual tranny fluid/radiator power flush & fill/power steering flush every summer
fuel filter gets changed every 30K
brake pads/rotor resurfacing = depends, usually change the fronts first, then the rears, then the fronts, then the rears. brake fluid is changed around this time, as well.
plugs every 30K, platinum tipped.
car usually washed once a week, all fluid levels checked off every other fill up, and visual inspection of body/interior/(and sometimes, when doing an oil change, i'll slide under the car and visual inspect the oil pan area for leaks, tranny area, axles, header condition (for damage, if any), and underbody for anything that looks unusual.
this is kinda overkill, but i haven't had any problems for 75K so far, so i must be doing something right.
