Vss speed sensor mount(On transmission) is broken, no speedo, HELP?
Okay so the part of the transmission where the speed sensor bolts onto is not there, it broke it looks like, does this mean a new transmission?
Well there isnt really a mount. Just a chunk broken off the transmission where the VSS would have bolted on. And if i put the speed sensor in, it doesnt work while just sitting there. I think it sits too deep into that hole so the gears(on the Diff and Sensor) dont line up. God I hope I dont have to drop a half a G on a new tranny.
damn i did the same thing.. i didnt use the lower bolt when i put my tranny mount in the car
you need a new case. you also can just stick it in their for now. make sure you twist because its suppose to sit all the way down in the hole

Damn so a new case huh? That should be the fun life. I will have to buy a new one anyways(think the old one is still bad) But it will work without being bolted in? I more or less just want to get through emissions with the damn thing.
Anyone know if I can just throw in a h23 tranny and call it good? Same axels and stuff?

The h23 trans will work.
But, fixing that is easier than getting a new case.
Any good shop could weld a peice of aluminum on there and thread it for you. That is a very low-stress peice so I wouldn't be concerned with it.
