Default Newbie Q: Welding SS to Mild Steel

I figured this would be the best place to ask.I ordered a Kteller full exhaust in t304 SS with plans of welding a SS Magnaflow on the end.Ive since come up with an 07 Si Muffler...Would your normal mom and pop shop be able to weld the two together? From what i heard its possible but the weld will be more prone to corrosion?Any help is appreciated and please dont tell me to go to a shop and ask because the are all closed untl Tuesday

Yes, I'm sure they will GMAW weld it with mild steel wire. So make sure you get some paint on the weld before it rusts.

the two metals aren't that dissimilar.
i agree. i use silver/ceramic high heat paint on any welds where i have to use er70.
almost all flex sections have ends that are formed mild steel (dont know why).
the paint protects the weld from corrosion (which is inevitable with er70 welds because or humidity or salty conditions).
it also cures better when applied as the piece is hot.
