turbo manni, rust on SS manni
hey, a friend is sellin a manni but it is SS and he says it has a lil surface rust. how can i get ridda the rust and maybe paint w/ 1200 degree paint so it doesnt rust no more. or, is Ss manni a bad i dea for turbo manifold in the 1st place. i need to know ASAP!!!!

Stainless steel will rust after it has been welded (with stainless wire/rod) if it has not been pickeled or pasified. Welding, cutting, grinding...etc... breaks down the protective chromium layer that gives ss its resillance to rust. Also, if you cut or grind ss with a carbon steel tool that spot will rust since the carbon steel has kind of leached off onto the ss metal surface.
