Why do you want a lower temp thermostat? It'll cause the engine to run slightly richer from what I've seen.

Normal operating temp should be 180F to 200F. On my track car, it stays below 200F, even in 100F+ Texas heat during 20 minute track sessions. I use a stock thermostat with a Fluidyne rad.

datalogger says 190* at cruising, below 200* at idle on normal temp days, 205* temp (automatic fan switch) idle on hot days.

Stock thermostat and coolant and "water wetter" is the choice of champions

why wouldnt you?

run water wetter if you are worried about it.

with a lower thermostat opening point you will have to adjust everything in the tune because it will no longer run at the same operating ECT that it was tuned for.

And honestly, i feel as though its just a cover up to the real problem. If you are overheating on the stock thermo then there is something wrong.

Exactly. If you overheat on a stock thermostat, a lower temp thermostat isn't going to help.

not really. doesn't mean something is wrong. FI cause alot more heat then NA. thats why things might get a little hot. just maken sure when its time to dyno i dont have problems. do the little things first.

thats why you upgrade the radiator and fan, not what controls the opening temp of the thermo.

those things are for fanboys who just want to put "Mugen" or "Spoon" in their mod list.

It may not be necessary, but if you want one, Mugen makes one for $88 that you can get from http://www.kingmotorsports.com
