but yeah ap1/2 steeringwheels have diff plugs airbags.. a new safety feature or something for AP2

The airbag can indeed be used although it requires rewiring.
Many people have done this from time to time.
The AP2 steering wheel is the exact same color as the AP1 steering wheel.
