Default aftermarket stereo upgrade question

I have a 07 Civic LX coupe that I'd like to install an aftermarket stereo in. I have a few questions:
1) I'm interested in the Scosche kit. is this a good replacement kit to use or is there another that is better? I recall that Honda may have a suitable dash kit (allowing for double din receivers) but I don't want to overpay if I don't have to.
2) does anybody know how I'm going to be able to pry the current one out of there without scratching up the dash? I gave it a cursory look and it seems to be locked on pretty good (as expected). any help would be appreciated.
3) is there anything else I will need? I intend to ditch the whole factory system, but if there is a useful wiring harness or something, please let me know.
thanks!!

Do a search for the AVIC-D3 on this forum and you should find my car with the scosche kit in it.

I am currently at the shop and this computer is terrible so when I make it home later I can re-post pictures and an explanation on how to remove th radio. It is fairly simple.

I love the scosche kit, the color match is pretty good and the finish is even better. Go to crutchfield and get all the parts, it's easier because they always have everything available.

well, I searched for 45 minutes and couldn't find the original post with the pix. it's cool, though. I talked to a Scosche rep at NOPI nats and he hooked me up. gave me the scoop. I'll be taking pix throughout the install, though.

Get the Honda navi dash kit and brackets from collegehills or someone from honda. It may be a few bucks more but its a perfect fit/match

click on my threads again like GUS did. Theres a wiring diagram in there somewhere, and I switched my computer and lost all my old files, such as the honda wiring one.
