ok I was looking at buying an si and i just wanted some help before actual buying it. I wanted to know how to verify if it is a real si what should the VIN say and if the price is right or if I should make an offer. Well the outside has normal scrathes has not been repainted a couple minor dents. Stock wheels fairly new BF Goodwrench tires. Front bumper needs to be repainted an probably replaced. As for the interior real clean, no odor, and pioneer deck. Has a viper alarm. The car has 78,000 miles, DC sports header, apexi catback exhaust, and no name intake. He is asking 10,000 Thanks for any fedback.

If you really want it, run a carfax report, but I'd keep my options open, instead of focusing on the first car you like.
$10k is lot of money, and it's a modded engine. Try to find one without the fixins, to the least.

10K is alot for a 99 SI especially if the front bumper needs replaced, but on the flip side 78,000 miles is a nice touch too so at the same time i'd scoop it up for the low mileage especially if the interior is in great shape.
I just bought a 99 si FBP with 72k on it, CF hood, intake. Has a salvage title, but it was checked out and frame is fine. Mine was 6200. Just a point of reference for you.
ino that, i'm just trying to give the guy a point of reference. It sounds like it's 2k high. also he never say's it's clean, and the sad thing is you can't assume si's have clean titles, it seems like you have to assume the opposite these days, especially the EBP

I was assuming the KBB value was around 8-9k. So, offer a $7,500 and work to $8,000 at the most. Remember, never buy the first car you see without seeing what other options are out there.
Aftermarket parts do not increase the actual value of the car. Plus, adding parts only means that the car has been pushed; I do, and people that I know have aftermarket parts do, so it's a proven fact. Think about it.
Try to find one that is unmolested and a premuim price doesn't seem as bad.
