what is the half shaft/intermediate shaft, etc. i know for a swap i need the tranny, motor,linkage, axles, etc. but what is the half shaft or intermediate shaft. will i need to buy it to do the swap, is it inside the tranny, someone explain. thanks.

 

The axles on B series are equal lengths unlike the D series. The intermediate shaft is basically a shaft that plugs into the driver side of the transmission, and then the axle plugs into the intermidiate shaft. The passenger side axle goes directly into the transmission.

If the swap doesn't come with one, then yes, you'll need to get it.

 

Good question...gotta love when people ask questions to learn. It helps me learn without people thinking I dont know what I am talking about.

 

Be carefull when you talk to a wreaking yard that you say that you need a manual intermediate shaft, not an automatic. they are NOT interchangeable and the yards love to **** it up.
