polished my wheels, need some guidance on getting them right.
i have a quick question.
I was polishing two of my si wheels yesterday. I first sprayed them with aircraft stripper, then got all of the clear and finish off using steel wool. I started out with the rough steel wool and finished with fine. I spent several hours on each wheel, then i used a meguiar's mag and aluminum polish.
After all of this, my wheels still don't look polished, they almost look like a factory si wheel as far as shine is concerned. Is it because of the polish i used or what?

so, you went from steel wool to say...2000 grit..? you might wanna use something like 320, then 400, 800, 1000, and then finish with 2000. I've heard using a lil buffer helps a lot when polishing.

that's a harsh, medium and soft one.</TD></TR></TABLE>
That's not gonna cut it. You need to wetsand with sandpaper.
If you want high shine you'll neeed jeweler's rouge.
