Alright, I got my motor last night from Hmotorsonline.com. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2097036 is my original post, and im gonna be doing the swap in my garage here at home.

Anyway, The motor came with the intake / exhaust manifolds but i was told i need to use my old mani's because of the emmisions. Now, problem with that is obviously more work and i need to get this done quick, and i dont even have a emmisions/safety test until 4/08 + when i moved out of my sister's house, my brotherinlaw threw my mani out onto the sidewalk over the fence and so its not exactly in top shap Can i make these work?

Also, the new motor came with Power steering pump. My car doesnt have PS on it (97 dx coupe) Can i make the power steering work? Its never been a problem for me, its still really easy to drive but it would be nice to have for when my G/F takes the car / when i eventually sell it.

What should I do at this stage? i have the new engine on the hoist ( just pulled out of truck bed) so obviously i need to get the old one out , but i mean is there much i should check with the new engine? It still has its original factory Oil filter and Tamper seal all over the place

Im sure i'll think of more to ask but for now thats all i have.

Ill try to get some pics up

Wow.

If it's the same motor, then it should be really easy. Take old out, put new in.

If ur state has strict emissions rules, then you'd have to get ur old header with catalytic converter and intake manifold with EVAP sensor. You will have to switch out the oil pump too to a USDM and use the CKF sensor.

Just look at your old motor and try to make the new motor look just like it.

While your doing all of this, it's a good time to replace the timing belt, gaskets for the header and intake mani, etc.

Shouldn't be that difficult.

ok, basically i can get my car certified for re-registration in Tooele utah where ive lived for a bit and they dont have any emissions testing at all. So i'd like to use this intake mani at least. keeping it how it is direct from japan would be nice. I dont know about the header. The old one is RUSTED to all hell and i cant even get it off my magnaflow pipe.. dont konw what to do about that.. So, i can use this mani and oil pump tho right?

and what about the PS?

If UT is not strict on emissions, then drop it in as is. My recommendations would be to change out the gaskets, etc.

Your car is not equiped with PS. So you'll have to source an EX PS Rack, joint, lines, res tank. I did that before I got my swap in. Otherwise, remove the pump and deal with no PS.
