Default In Dash DVD Set Up Question

Alright.. I have kinda a few questions... so here I go! I searched a little, and I have so much to ask that it was just easier to do this:

I have a Pioneer DEH 6400 head unit in my Integra, and I was talking to my friend and he told me if I got an in dash dvd screen, I could mount it on top of the head unit, and then use my playstation2 to play dvds and of course games. Now how exactly does this all hook up to one and other... what would I need to buy?!

I know nothing about how to hook up in dash dvd stuff, I imagine its similar to stereo equipment but I need to know how to wire in the PS2 and make it all run together...

PLEASE HELP!

get a ac/dc converter for your ps2,hook it up,run the video cable from the ps2 to the screen, run the red and white rca cables to the radio and plug them into the accesories input.then when you want to watch your ps2,tuen on the converter, turn on the ps2,turn on the screen, switch the radio to accesory, then you will hear it through the radio and see it on the screen, you could use a audio video switch with it,that would cut out having to turn on everything separtly and make it so everything comes on together.

IntegGirlRacer: thats a nice setup.. but I'm just curious for you and any1 else that has these setups/visual.. when do you actually use it? is it more for your passengers to play w/? or do you actually use it? I mean don't you have to have the motor running or else it kills your battery (I'm assuming you have the screen, head unit, amps, speakers, inverter for PSX2, etc all running)... like you can't use it while driving or well its not really safe to.. when do you actually use it? I looked into getting one of the Alpine screens (cuz my system is mostly alpine (DSP and changer).. but i figured I didn't want to spend over a G for something my passengers would play w/ more than me..

anyway those are really nice set ups..

I've been asking myself the same question..Do you pull your seat all the way back, and just sit in the car? You can't obviiously play while your driving, and that's a lot of $$$ for passenger entertainment..I'm not knocking it, I'm just curious like the previous lad..

I have the same unit as the person above. Like many of the things we do to our cars, the in dash screens, DVD players, PS2, etc are partly for use but mostly for the ooohhh-aaahhh factor. I tend to have my unit closed a good portion of the time to be honest. But when I'm in traffic or at a show or just chillin with the fellas I will be playing a movie or just letting the Pioneer graphics do their thing.

Think about body kits, rims, etc. Who are those for? Surely not for you while your driving. They are for everyone on the road BUT you to check out. When can you appreciate the look of your car? When the car is stopped and your peeping it from the outside. Same deal with these in dash screens.
Now I don't see the point of playing movies while your driving, unless you have occupants. But when I'm by myself I will often have the spectrum analyzer on or one of the other graphic selections. I don't sit there and stare at the thing, but it is hella cool to check out periodically while you drive. Other drivers always complement me on it too.

By the way, the wow factor from the ladies is always off the chart!! That in itself should be reason enough to get one.
