kumho 712's or Falken azenis??
which tires are more fit for daily driving??? i like the falken azenis but they tread looks like they would wear out fast compared to the 712's .....can someone with the tires gimme some insight ..holla
I have both. But my Azenis are my competition tires. They DO NOT SUCK in the rain - they are actually better in the rain than the 712s, but the 712s will wear a bit longer than the Azenis. My last set of 712s lasted about 30K miles. My Azenis should last about 20K miles.
I favor the Azenis. The minor lack of milage is more than made up for by the extra grip they provide. They are a lot more fun to drive hard on, and certianly are a better competition tire than the 712's!
I heard the Azenis are good on wet roads, but not on standing water, like large puddles. Can you confirm or deny those reports CivicSiRacer?
I got caught in a couple of huge downpours yesterday and my 712's were brilliant.

Any tire going through standing water will have problems. Just avoid them. And how often do you encounter standing water? I sure as heck don't - and must avoid them just incase since I a cold air intake.
I don't mean deep water, just puddles. Yah, my 712's will hydroplane above a certain speed. I'm just wondering if the Falkens hydroplane at a much lower speed bcasue there's so much less siping to evacuate water.
I like the 712's They are a great 'beginner' competition tire because they provide a lot of feedback at the limit. They are plenty sticky for me and they arn't too loud.

I had no problems in my car with the azenis in standing/puddled water or downpour, they actually are one of the best tires i have ever used, with the exception of the now defunct yokohama AVSi... azenis are a great choice
I currently and working on killing my 195/60VR14 AVS-I, which I love in the dry and light rain. In moderate to heavy rain they suck, but I knew that to begin with so I just slow down. After these die, I am going to Azenis RS. My friend has them on his WRX and can't believe how good they are.
