i just sprayed my ls meshies.
the biggest worry for me was whether to sand down the machined rings or not. i got trough half of it and then test sprayed on another peice of aluminum to see how thick the rim paint is.
its extremely thick and runny. so i decided to just scuff the rim with 400 after stripping it with aircraft stripper and then spray
make sure you do reallly light coats you dont want full coverage untill the third or fourth coatt.
i used bronze and it turned out quite well ill get some pictures up asap.
also mine started with major curbage all around the ourter lip so i took a palm sander with 80 and worked my way up to 800 till it was smooth.

man i did this to my meshies i did blue....taping was just a bitch but i have a nice lip i did it to reduce the signs of oxidation on my meshies since it was already black with a polished lip.....but the blue has worked and i used some anodized "metalcast?" spray and a mixture of rustoleum "metal" paint and it gave it a anondized blue but not too purplish finish

Enough with teasing...show something at least 1 rim should be done by now.

Duplicolor paint is very brittle since its lacquer based. I painted some rims with it not too long ago. I don't think the finish will last long at all.
