Default Removing Cam caps

Took the bolts and the cam cover plates off, but the cam caps seem to be stuck in place. Is there anything more to removing them? Mallet?

They're positioned by dowel pins that fit fairly tightly in the head and cam caps.

you should be able to to wiggle the cam a little and get enough room to get under the caps to fit something. then just work them side to side.

I usually use a wide screwdriver to pry VERY gently on the tabs on the caps. Cover anything that you pry against with a shop towel. DO NOT PRY ON ANY MACHINED SURFACES.

there are little tabs that come out so you can wedge them out. its a lip that faces forward on the exhuast side and believe to the rear on the intake side that you can use to pry them off

Yep, got them out using the tabs. Not bad at all using them.
