Switching from obd1 to obd2?
Ok so I have a 2001 gsr. I have s2s2 cams, s2 intake manifold, itr pistons, smsp header and other bolt ons tuned on neptune with a p28 obd1 ecu. I have had the car running fine for the past 3 months. I had to take emissions so i had to plug back in my obd2 ecu. After taking emmisions with my obd2 ecu in i threw p0420 code and my idle went crazy fluctuating from 1200 to 2000 when i was at a stop and my car started running really rich. I switched back to obd1 and cleaned my iacv. Cleaning the iacv helped out the idle a little bit but it still runs rich and the idle flucuates when you start is and the idle sits a little higher now. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this or what to do? Thanks

i know. is there a fix for my situation?

this in no way is meant to go around the emissions laws here in IL.
have an O2 simulator soldered inside the ECU and disconnect the secondary O2 signal wires. But run the secondary O2 in the test pipe to keep the heater portion working.

the code is really not the problem now for me its the idle surging and running rich unless this will help. btw i think relic1 i think you worked on my buddies red ek a year ago you wired his obd2 ecu up so he can pass emissions. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Relic1 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">this in no way is meant to go around the emissions laws here in IL.

where can i get a simulator and how hard is this?

it's very possible that I did, I've helped a few people in the area with emissions codes.
if you can solder it's really easy.

I've made several of these and not a one had a problem.
the secondary O2 is emissions only, something else is causing it to run rich and idle funky.
