Default Name that ticking noise!

k i got stock valve train at the moment upgrading real soon within 2 weeks taking it real easy on the car when i drive it

setup is

b18c1 with ctr pistons

b16 head stock valvetrain getting RM springs and retainers
Skunk2 Stage 2 cams

valves adjusted to .006 on intake and .008 on exhaust

on the cam sheet it says to put the valve lash of .007 on the intake but the feeler gauge i bought from schucks only went by 2s so i had to make do

would that be the cause of the ticking noise?

LMA's? Those primary lobes might give the stock B16A LMA's a tough time.

Why are you running S2S2 cams on stock valve train?

It's probably the LMA's you're hearing. I had to replace mine with ITR, and it helped with the noise a little. I also had really worn valve guides, and once those were replaced it cut the noise in half.

Good luck.
