Default b18c5 tranny

so im thinking about buying a hatch with an itr motor and tranny. it's a 97 itr motor with a 2000 itr tranny.
my question is, does all itr motor comes with lsd, and is it possible to take the lsd out. sorry if it's a dumb question but im thinking about buying it 2morrow.
thanks guy

All Type-R transmissions do come with LSD. May I ask why you want to take out the LSD? If you plan to go that route, sell the ITR tranny and buy a B16 tranny (same gearing minus the LSD), and still have left over money.

Visual LSD indicator without tranny off.

Should have a sticker with S80 and a VIN plate with JH4DC231...

to check if it's a lsd just look through the diff, thats where the axles go in
you should be able to see through it, if there is a bar blocking the view it's
a non lsd.

The tranny will be on the car when he buys it. He obviously won't being able to check this method unless he pulled axles on the spot.

X2

OP:

it's highly unlikely the owner removed the LSD from the transmission, that requires a lot of work and isn't worth it to begin with.

here we go, this is why i hate when people ask about lsd trannies. everyone has some cooked up scheme to telling if there is lsd or not, which is misinformation.

let me name a few:

slamming the gears
burning out
the spinning of the tires while the car is jacked up

look noobs, there is only three ways you can tell if the tranny has lsd. starting from easiest to hardest:

1. visual markings (looking for the lsd stamp, or tranny VIN).
2. removal of axles (if there is no pin the the differential and you can see clearly through, there is lsd).
3. removal of tranny and disassembling the tranny.

that's it there is no other way, so PLEASE stop posting stupid theories.

gsr's are LSD, right?

cause when i do a burnout in my car, it pulls a little to the right... maybe because i have a shitty tire on the left, and a new tire on the right, but still...

The SiR-G had optional LSDs though.
