NA LS...
I know I should use the "search" feature but does anyone build all motor non-VTEC LS's anymore? If they do, how are you guys doing it? I am considering going this route, cops are getting smart and they know when a certain car isn't supposed to have "DOHC VTEC" on the valve cover when they make you pop your hood. Thanks in advance.
it shouldnt matter what is under your hood. i have a ls and it runs really good for what it is but i am building a ls/vtec now. as long as your motor has all its vin #'s and is legit and passes smog(depending on where you are)then you should be fine. if not just get a valve covor off ebay that doesnt have anything printed on it!

Throw in some P30 Pistons, Hardware to rev to 9500, and Best of the best bolt ons (Big CAI, 2.5" Exhaust, Race Header...as apposed to my Small SRI, 2" Exhaust, and DC Header) and itll start closing in on 200whp NA Non-Vtec.

There is a sort of...debate...about CapnToll's dyno results. No one else anywhere has put down the numbers he has with anything similar, just for reference. You won't see 200whp on a mildly built LS with cams.
Having said that, regardless of what numbers are put down, cams, a good header/exhaust/etc., tuning, and a shorter geared tranny (B16/ITR or GSR) will be very fun. Same for a B20, but I guess then you could run into problems with cops, if that's what you're worried about.

X 2. Any setup like that is very fun, no matter what the numbers are.
As for my numbers, I'd really like to get to the drag strip, but that won't happen until next fall. I'm going to hit the dyno "dragstrip" in January though. I don't know how true dyno drag numbers are...the rollers are hooked up to the staging lights/X-Mas tree that's in front of the rollers, and you just go.
Not sure my exact power loss from bhp to whp, but I would believe that I for sure have a 200bhp Integra...so slightly more than an ITR which usually dyno in the 160whp range. I would hope to be in the high 14s as I know I'm faster than stock RSX-Ss which test in the high 14s as well (So I guess I'd be happy with low 15s on street tires and not with a Car n Driver pro tester).
Edit: Also, the elevation here in Winnipeg is going to make some of the best power in North America.

A drag run could be telling, but how consistent of a drag racer are you?
You should be faster than a stock RSX, definitely. Again, no matter what the numbers are, you're close enough to them, and weigh a few hundred pounds less.
The elevation factor does play a part, I'm sure. I said this before in another thread, but I'd really like to see a dyno comparison of your car and some other car that's been dynoed somewhere else. The dyno drag numbers are SUPPOSED to be within ~1/10th or so, if they're set up properly.

Well a couple weeks before I dyno'd, somebody else on Superhonda with my exact same setup made 163whp. However, he left his cam gears at 0-0, and he didn't raise the redline to keep making power passed 6900rpm. He also just tuned it on the Apexi Neo:

Nope. He's in San Diego. My city is boost crazy lol. Not many all motor cars except for 2 or 3 230whp K Swaps.
Also, that 175whp in sig is a bit of an extrapolation. I only dyno'd up to 6900rpm at which point I was at 173.5whp...so I rounded up to 175whp since it's still making power right up to my 7500 rev limit.
