I have a ls block that has 185,000 miles on it, I have a turbo kit, and was planning on just going LS-T but picked up a GSR head for cheap, so would my car be fine running 8-10lbs on stock internals revving to say 8,000rpm. I would at least replace the headgasket with a thicker one and get some head studs and rod bolts and rod bearings, timing belt, gsr water pump and oil pump etc. only looking for 300whp, and I know that the rod bolts are the weak point on LS motors not really the rods but with 185,000 miles i'm concerned about the rods and pistons and rings just a tad bit.

because I can do all the work I listed above in a weekend, if I got pistons and rods that would require me to have a send the motor off to get the cylinders honed, and I can't afford downtime the car is my daily driver.
if you change the rod bolts your going to have to machine hone the rods big end after the instalation the tend to get distorted and size your bearing acordingly i would just leave the stock bolts if your on a budget
