tires and top speed
hello i have some cheap azz michelin tires from costco. and it seems everytime i go over 80 mph my steering wheel shakes and my handling feels like crap.
im assuming its from the tires. if not what else could it be? i mean i can go 120 but its kinda scary how the car feels in certain ways.... maybe my alignment? i have no ps so its kinda hard to tel how bad my alignment is off but i dont think its to bad....

Be more specific, radial or bias ply, assymetrical or not. If you have assymetrical tires, make sure the right treads on the tire are on the right side of the car, same goes for directional tires, make sure they are rotating the right way. What size rim and tire? Was the wheel checked for run out?
If it did not do this prior to the tire change, the tire change is most likely to blame.

120 is scary
Top speed runs are not for the average street-goer.
I realize I haven't answered any part of your question, so some things to look into would be:
-tire out of round
-improperly balanced
-axels
Good luck going stupid fast on public roads

if you guys read his post correctly he says that it shakes at 80 and that 120 scares the hell out of him. I work at a large tire company as an alignment tech and we get at least 3-5 people a day that think they need an alignment because of viberations. I would take the car to a place that can do road force balancing its possible that you have an out of round tire or it could be an axle. I would have the tires check first and foremost.

and our point is that theres is absolutely NO reason for him to be 120mph on all season tires and that hes going to end up hurting himself or someone else
everybody's topped out their car once on the street... you know it to be true... i've done it but i don't go around doing it all the time... i hardly ever exceed 70mph unless i'm trying to get to an offramp from the fast lane or some ****...
save 120 for a track guys don't do it on the street that's just blatantly stupid and dumb

Yes, I've suggested that an out of round tire or axles could be the culprit. I wonder if he's sent his car to check them out at all.

Yes, many of us have topped out our cars. Myself included. However, due to my experience (License suspension was luckily the only consequence for my high speed addiction), I can't just give the guy some help without recommending that he doesn't do 120 on public streets, as it's dangerous and unstable no matter what you do (Innumerable potholes, dips, and dangerous, car rolling bumps). I want people to enjoy being spirited on the road, not dead.
