Default Mixing D parts onto a D16a

I am preparing to undertake a project on a D16a in a DC2 chassis (don't ask... )

Thing is I can get tonnes of parts for D16's and y8s. I am going to redo the engine with new seals, gaskets, belts, pumps, etc... stock pistons, rings, bearings... but I want to turbo it in the near future. Low boost for a daily driver, not a racer.... but I do want to extract as much power per PSI as I can.

What are some parts that I can fit to the D16a to help ?

y8 intake mani ?
y8 throttle body ?

Is this even worth the hassle or just make up for it with an extra pound of boost ?

(I am not very familiar with the d16a... I have had a z6 and y8 before and quite familiar with them)

i don't know much about d-series motors, but there was a couple of pages on july's or august's issue ofhonda tuning about what parts are interchangable, the reasoning behind it, and the power gains.

if you do not have it see if a friend does. it was quite informative, and might be able to help you.

I know it says don't ask but I was just curious to why you are putting a D-series in your DC2? Also my friend has a D16a in his 95 civic and he says that it is actually slower than his old z6, so maybe u should just go with a z6 or even a y8.

i'm not swapping it in... the car is a first run japanes DC2 (I don't live in the US) and came with a D16 automatic. The car hit a curb and got some damage, I bought it to rebuild for my wife. I considered swapping in a B18, but right now B's are too pricey, so I decided to just freshen up the stock motor and turbo it for some kicks as I'd rather work with the engine in the bay than get into a swap.

I can pick up a y8 intake mani and throttle body right now cheep... is it worth any kind of investment ? I know the manifold is worth it's weight on a z6... would the 'a' respond the same way ?
