Default Former theives, please come on in

Okay, first off I want to clear something up. If you are a former automotive thief and have reformed then I praise you for doing so. I'm looking for someone to send me a pm. It will be totally anonymous and I am not out to reveal anyone's identity. I just need a couple of answers to some questions that are flying around in my head. I've had a car stolen from me before, and I just want to know some more about certain things.

To everyone whom which this does not apply to, please keep the negative comments to yourselves.

Thank you.

This makes me wonder too....I remember the last time I was at traffic school I was sitting next to this guy who I guess was court ordered there in connection to some car thefts he had commited and so I struck up a convo and he started to tell me a few things that thiefs do in order to steal cars etc...I was like??? So divulging this kind of info can be good and bad at the same time...it could help someone learn to break into a car etc or help protect people from those methods - Catch 22.

This is bound to be moved to GD&D, but I'm feeling the topic.

On a similar and relative topic, the guy that re-did the security on my car posed a challenge of sorts prior to doing the work. One hell of sales pitch.

He told me to round up 4 of my friends with cars that had alarms and have them all meet up at the shop. He lined us all up in the garage and told us all to arm our alarms. Then, as we stood back and watched, he proceeded to break into all 5 cars in under 5 minutes with only one actually having the alarm go off. No windows broken, no wires cut. I almost **** my pants. He pointed out all the common mistakes that security installers make, usually to cut corners. He also showed us the vulnerabilities of the cars themselves. Pretty shocking.

Turns out he was reformed car thief and repo man that turned his life around and started a automotive security shop.

Did anyone break into your car after his installation?

I also posted this in GDD, but I felt like, unfortunately, there would be more thieves lurking in here than anywhere else.
