Default stripped oil pan

I just stripped the oil pan on my 93 civic. right now i have teflon wrap, quick fix for now... Is there any suggestions on the best way to fix the problem.

A. replace the oil pan

B. rethread the oil pan with a bigger bolt.

C. ?

Thank you

Phil

Thanks,

What do you recommend me doing about the rusted bolts on my oil pan, as far as getting them out with out stripping or snapping them off.

If you are going to replace the pan, make sure you put some sealant on the sharp edges of the gasket located under the crankshaft (it looks like a half moon). No matter how well you put the gasket on the pan, if you don't put the sealant on there it will leak a small amount of oil. Also, if you still have trouble taking of the the oil pan nuts and bolt (there are both holding it on) and the PB blaster doesn't completely work, get a smaller socket (the nuts and bolts are 10mm so probably a 9mm) with 18 cuts instead of the normal 6, and press it over the bolt (or nut) head. This is usually a last resort if you have stripped the head because the cuts of the socket shear themselves into the bolt head. It will have an almost permanent grip in the bolt, but ruins it beyond reuse (which is why I suggest not to do this unless the bolt head has already been stripped). Good luck with it.
