Default Main relay clicking fast

Well i wired my dx to mpfi for my z6 and whne i try and start it, all it dose is make a really fast clicking noise coming from main relay area when the car is turn on, the when i try and turn over it sounds like the starter pops out but dosent spin, just a click, click. it not the battery because i put a jumper on it and tryed again. If anyone can give some info i would realy apreciate it.

check and make sure you ahve a ground cable between the body and the transmission. sounds like a ground problem.

Definately a grounding problem. Check your grounds to the:

- Thermostat (often missed)

- Starter

- Valve Cover

- From battery to tranny casing

I think that's all of the grounds in the engine bay, which is most likely where the problem is.

Thanks for the help, im on the right track so far. Their was a wire in the back coming from the wire harness that had one of those circle connector clamps so that you can hook it through a bolt , well im thinking that it grounds on the starter, but i just grounded it . dose that wire have to be grounded on the starter or anywhere? The main relay clicking stoped, but wen i try to turn it over all i get from the starter is a click also. Thanks again for any help!

One important ground connection is at the thermostat housing. Otherwise, overall, your description sounds like a weak battery, too.

please elaborateon the ecu input signal. fro some reason i think this is it b/c when it clicks the tach bounces real fast.
i have this same problem except it happens when the car is running and under load(%50+ throttle)

also i thought the starter only had the starter signal and 12v. regardless i dont have either of the two starter grounds.
