Drag Radial for 16' wheel?
Hoosier 225/50 R16 Drag Radials fit great. It's an excellent drag radial too, much better than the BFG or Nitto DR's. I got the same 60' times with my Hoosier DR's that I did with my 24.5x8 slicks.
1.8's in a full-weight EM1 -w- a 265 lb driver, same as I used to get -w- my Hoosier 24.5x8's on 13" Lensos, but a lot more stable at over 100 MPH.

It's still listed on the Hoosier site. Most dealers, like Tire Rack, don't carry it though. If you call one of the distribution centers listed on the Web site, then they should be able to hook you up.
I was running the m&h dot bias ply, but the 26" diam. was a little taller than I wanted. I was going through the traps at around 7,500 rpm in 4th, and would lose too much boost in between shifts.
Do you know off hand if they offer a 15" tire?
Sorry to threadjack

they looks like they will fit but will they pass for everyday driving like bf goodrich drag radials?

Hoosiers are not for a DD, they got no treads, just a wee line around the middle. Stickiest daily drivable DR I've run has been a BFG DR, although I think MT makes a streetable drag tire that's better.
You could also go with an r-compound road-race tire like a Toyo RA1, I run those on my hatch and they are decent for a DD if you don't shave them, very soft compound and you won't get in trouble if you get caught out in the rain.
Also ask in the drag forum, they would know better there, I haven't been to the drag strip in forever.

hmm.. i see bf goodrich makes 255-50-15.. that would proabbaly never work.. right? and be tall as ****..
i undestand about sidewall, but what about compound, is it just as sticky.. if thats the case i can live with poor launch

The MT is a 26" tire, which will give great traction on the street, but a little tall for under 500 hp at the track. The bfg dr is just under 24" and works very well at the track, but still spins quite a bit on the street. I just took off a set of 225/50/15 bfg's because there bald after 300 miles, and they only hook up in fifth gear which I don't use
(on the street)
M&H dot is also a great street/race tire for high horsepower/high torque cars. I can get some traction in third with this tire. It's a bias ply and it's big and bad.

BFG DR compound is treadwear 00, Toyo RA1 treadwear is 40.</TD></TR></TABLE>
yeah they do make 225-50-15.. i meant to say they make 255-50-16, since we're talking 16's... but i guess that would never fit and be way too tall..
